Meet Franko the 8 foot tall Robot

Recommended Posts

Well a bit of bad news

I have been working like a lunatic, trying to finish both of my daughters houses

keep customers happy, and everything else

including starting a tardis

result being, a trip into the hospital and pipes and wires !!

turns out I had something horrible wrong with me

upshot being I need to ease off a lot

I am going to spend a bit of time getting treated, which will not be pleasant

but better than the alternative !!

luckily being fit, teetotal and slim work in my favour

so I need to clear out lots of room in my garage, ready for my recovery, so that  I can finally work on my Morris Oxford

SO I dont know if you can advertise here

but I would like Franko to go to a good home

he comes with the very very rare book about the robots

boxes of spares, motors and other stuff ready for the next owner to do more

if you understand electronics, then it would be easy enough to remote control him

his neck now has the correct bearing and tilt assembly

and motors and drive are all included

he can be moved in an estate car or a van

otherwise my son in law will list him on Ebay after Halloween

let me know if you are interested, we are not far from Gloucester

Obs I am not giving him away, having been caught that way before by some one who promptly listed one of my creations on the bay, but the right person is needed to adopt and care for him,and will be vetted by two axe wielding nutters

and my grandson

Sorry for your troubles! I'd never seen these posts. Amazing project!

Its a bummer, but life goes on

Its just with the chemo I wont feel inclined to do anything for a while, so I am am going to work on my classic car, a big hammer and rude words will take the edge off things !!

my view is that the poor children of Ukraine have it far worse, I have nothing to complain about

and Putin in a vile pig eyed thug who will be a forgotten footnote in history

  • 1 month later...

Well as I have some free time, rather than rush at the last minute ( mike is always late !!)

I have pottered along

cleared one end of the garage to make a grotto

assembled him with some help ( I have not got my strength back yet) so youngest daughter came and helped

I rewired his internals, as last time it was a rush

tidied up a few loose edges

a tweak here a tweak there

connected his audio driver circuits up

tested it

fitted his low tech control panel

and then touched in the marks and chips, followed by several coats of paint to make him glow

I am going to surround him with Timber sheets, to keep the kids from getting into my classic car ( and tripwires ) its all covered with hidden cctv

then lots of scary dead things

I am putting out  a few images and notes on social media, but no address yet, on the night they will have to look for the signs

lets not make it easy for the little devils

and stack up on sweets

He's simply Franko-tastic.     And his Poppy is tremendous.
Thank you for sharing this fellow with us - I've looked through this many times over through the years.
I can only imagine how much joy and intrigue you've added to the world by having us along for the ride.
Cheers,

after an entire week, working  flat out ish

he is now ready, and I have created a grotto in the workshop, with solid barriers to prevent the usual suspects having a wander around

plus concealed CCTV

his voice circuits work well, and I rewired the chassis properly as I now had time

it will make him easier to move and re site

I have contacted a local auction house to see if they are interested in selling him

make a nice christmas present

or even a giant metal santa

I have in the past offered to loan him to local schools and charities, but they seem to be staffed by brain dead graduates who want to sit in front of a PC and press buttons, after completing a very worthy cause in money making through charity, and show off their certificates in doing bugger all

spineless and brainless the lot of them and could not make a decision to save their lives

so he can go to a new home, tinged with a little sadness, but he will no doubt spread the joy

at last I can get on with my classic car

and crack on with the tardis as well

plus all my charity work

life is too short to sit on yer arse

go out there and grab it

Well, after halloween Franko is going to Stroud Auction rooms to be disposed off in the January sale

having had a few time wasters and hippy types, I cant be bothered dealing with prospective purchasers any more

I have used this company many times and they are always friendly and honest
