Fineas J. Whoopie
"Something you might find interesting about the use of the N95 masks used in hospitals. The good and the bad. https://www.vox.com/recode/2020/4/1/21196941/coronavirus-n95-mask-respirator-shortage" I used to run a fabrication shop in the granite countertop business. At any given time we would have anywhere between 1/2 and two full cases of N-95 masks in the store room. I don't remember exactly but a case was probably 2 dozen boxes of maybe 20 masks per box. This was in a little shop out in the middle of nowhere. There must be lots of similar stashes in supply rooms from all sorts of industries all over the world. Not to mention the distributors of these masks (although I suspect those will go to the highest bidder). They are used for many purposes besides medical. I'd like to see a movement similar to WWII when we did local drives for resources. The contents of small store rooms could yield big numbers like the paper and rubber drives back in the '40s. Donations over profiteering would be nice to see but I'm not holding my breath.
Sparkrobot
Fin slightly sideways on your post. Some companies over here are great at thinking outside the box. One company that specialises in scuba diving gear has re invented it's breathing masks into health care standard breathing aids. Other companies like our vacuum cleaning boffin Dyson has also retooled his manufacturing side to build respirators. I hope your Country is in this worrying time showing the same resorcefulness . 6Stelab9
I received this guy yesterday . Just a HA HA TOY but I really enjoyed receiving it. He is in quarantine. As he doesn't stop coughing, I had to ask him to wear a mask. I don't want him to transmit the Robid-19 to my other robots.

I was gonna mask all of mine in the cabinet for a photo op. I just haven’t been motivated to make a hundred or so tiny masks. Brilliant sir. Hope you are doing well. Oh, and nice addition! funkrobotik
I've heard that this virus affects robots different to us humans. We develop lung and breathing problems where as robots after 24hrs break out in scabs which we know as rust. It's a horrible fate. Only known prevention is a wd40 shower every 12hrs. The robot version virus can also affect the spinning heart of the said robot, and the only known cure is a damn good slap and tell it to get a grip, failing that a spray inside with the antidote Servisol

Dirk
From what I know, Marco and his family are fine...it was no Corona infection as he told me. Also some good news from Gilbert from the south of France - he feels a bit isolated but save; and it seems that he will never loose his good (or evil...) sense of humor! (Sorry I can't refuse to quote this little part of his last e-mail) Quote "But the US guys are not really cautious till now, that explain that the number of dead increase I wonder why they did not learn from all these US movies on a pandemia If I remember in outbreak with dustin hoffman, US army is ready to bomb a small city to end a pandemia, if I was in New York I would be worried" SORRY! RoboDerby
A message to remember while we all endeavor to get through these uncertain times and a tribute to Bill Withers who wrote this song and who has passed away. Lean On Me...from 6 feet away, of course. A couple of meters for you weirdos that use the metric system. what do you say John, want to start a band? Brian..
I see now that ignorant morons are blaming 5g phone masts for spreading the virus. They've pulled down a few of these vital pieces of communication infrastructure at a time when the emergency services need them most. It's staggering how stupid some people can be.
