The seller told me that they almost didn’t list it. I’m so glad that they did. With Robert gone, it seems a special opportunity to be able to bring one of his customs back to life. I think the missing and now recovered head also adds a bit of history to this piece.

So about $40 all in for the privilege of making this piece whole again. Lucky indeed! Of course I spent $100 or so already on a donor bot and some other materials for the purpose of replicating the head before discovering the original today. But that’s just fine as those items will come in handy for future projects.

RoboDerby
Interesting. I seem to have stumbled upon the source for the devil head on Robert’s custom that I shared previously in this thread. While browsing eBay, I found myself looking at vintage hand puppets where I discovered several (from the 70s I believe) with what appear to be heads that are identical to that of Robert’s creation. Though the paint jobs are different, the mold I think is the same. So....mystery solved. In case it was keeping any of you awake at night.
6Stelab9
I didn't realized you didn't known where the head came from. It's a classic puppet head. I've got one slightly different at home and made my own prototype some months ago.

RoboDerby
Well...another poor neglected, mistreated, and nearly lost Robert G. one off has found its way out of the Bay and into my cabinet. I missed this one a year ago when it was originally listed by the same seller who was the source of some of my other one offs. Even at that time it was clear that these toys had been severely neglected. No doubt the case was the same with this one. However, of no help to Robert’s fragile paint job was the fact that the seller shipped the toy in a thin cardboard box which was originally the packaging for trash bags. 3 wadded up paper towels served as the “packing” and the seller additionally placed two loose c cell batteries in the box with the toy which battered the heck out of the bot along it’s journey. The paint is severely chipped all over, especially on the back. Glad I could save this piece from any more abuse and neglect from unsavvy sellers.
