This is the fifth museum, out of the nine who've made acquisitions, to have put specimens on display. I'm happy just to have experienced the many various opportunities these banks have provided, from meeting astronauts to donating to museums...all while building a unique collection of signed artifacts. I am honored to have had the opportunity to promote these fascinating pieces of American history.
MacDaddyRico Posted December 29, 2022 Author Posted December 29, 2022 I decided to customize another factory-bare Vacumet Berzac Guided Missile Bank (circa 1975,) to commemorate one of two museums in my hometown of New York City who have displayed my gifts in exhibits. The USS Intrepid's exhibit featured a Commemorative Satellite Bank honoring Scott Carpenter, whom they plucked from the ocean on May 24, 2022. Some problems during re-entry caused Aurora 7 to splash down 250 miles off course, and Carpenter waited in his life raft for more than an hour before rescue teams recovered him and flew him to the prime recovery ship, the U.S.S. Intrepid aircraft carrier.
Roboto Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Great looking Vacumet Berzac Guided Missile Bank!!

MacDaddyRico Posted January 27, 2023 Author Posted January 27, 2023 In keeping with my new tradition to honor each museum which featured one or more of my gifted specimens by creating a custom Vacumet reissue of a Berzac Creation Guided Missile Bank... This just in (I'm getting better)...
MacDaddyRico Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 And to celebrate my business relationship with the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, who are the sponsors of the Astronaut Autograph & Memorabilia Shows which I've been doing since 2009, I decided to customize another Vacumet specimen in their honor...

The Queens Museum is the only one not represented here; perhaps in the future I'll come across another Vacumet specimen and customize it. The specimen I customized representing the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan (down the road from where they were made in East Detroit) was gifted to the Berzac sisters, Winnie and Bonnie, some time ago.
MacDaddyRico Posted October 18, 2023 Author Posted October 18, 2023 UPDATE 10/17/2023: The Smithsonian Air & Space Museum's curator is currently considering cherry-picking my personal collection. She has more than 75 artifacts to choose from; one or all. If successful, I will be honored to have made my fourth donation to this prestigious historical institution. I have no children to leave anything to, so I figured anything of mine that is historically significant and museum-worthy can go to those interested in acquiring them.

I am very fortunate to have had the opportunities I've had to donate to prominent American museums since 2009...after all, it's not every day one can donate to any given museum. The timing was right.
