Another rare set the Action Figure Collectors Set: 5th Doctor Castrovalva

Contents:
1 x Post-regeneration Fifth Doctor action figure.
1 x Shrunken figure accessory.
1 x Master’s TARDIS as a Stone Column.

The newly regenerated Fifth Doctor escapes with his companions back to the TARDIS. Suffering from post-regeneration trauma, he only narrowly manages to save the ship from destruction as it plunges back to Event One, the hydrogen in-rush that preceded the creation of the universe.

He then seeks sanctuary in the peaceful domain of Castrovalva, only to discover that it is an illusory, dimensionally paradoxical trap set for him by the Master with the unwilling aid of a kidnapped Adric.

The Doctor eventually wins the day by enlisting the help of the Castrovalvan people who, although also part of the Master’s creation, are nevertheless able to exercise free will.

The Master’s TARDIS
Whilst on the planet Traken the Fourth Doctor discovers that the Master, his long time nemesis, is trying to take control of a complex Traken bio-electronic power known as ‘The Source’. The Source would allow the Master unparalleled power, and the ability to regenerate his dying body. When the Master’s TARDIS is destroyed by the power feedback of The Source it is revealed he has another and thus he escapes to encounter the Doctor again. Their next encounter finds the Master’s TARDIS, with its fully functional Chameleon Circuit, disguised first as a Police Box and latterly on the planet Logopolis, as a sandstone Doric column. The Master’s TARDIS stayed in this favoured form during several encounters with the Fifth Doctor, before changing once again.

Yes great to see figures with him. The 8th doctor had a very short run!

Doctor Who 5.5″ 8th Doctor Action Figure

“I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren’t there.”

The Eighth Doctor was an effortlessly charming, romantic figure. He was unguarded about his background and equally candid about what the future held for people he came into contact with.

Includes..

Sonic Screwdriver Accessory

Karn Chalice Accessory (Cup O’ Karn)

Cass’s Bandolier Accessory (removable)

It seems ironic that so much about this open Doctor remains a closed book…His first adventure took place in San Francisco at the turn of the Millennium with Dr Grace Holloway and Chang Lee in an epic battle with the Master.

Much later, after many adventures with many companions, the 8th Doctors fate is finally sealed during the Time War, as he attempts to rescue a pilot, Cass, whose ship was crashing into the planet Karn.

When Cass realized that the Doctor was a Time Lord and her enemy, she refused his help and allowed the ship crash.

The Three Doctors DVD 40th Anniversary Gift Set a rare and unique package by Corgi!

The Three Doctors DVD Special Edition Gift Set Featuring a Model Bessie Car by Corgi and a printed card of the DVD cover. Released in 2003 for the 40th Anniversary.

UNIT HQ comes under attack by an alien force, and The Doctor has no other option but to call on his own people, the Time Lords, for help. Breaking the first Law of Time, the first two Doctors are lifted out of their time-streams and sent to help the third. But in a universe of anti-matter, an all-powerful figure from Time Lord history is waiting, and even three Doctors may not be enough to stop him…

The decision to make a story that reunited the first three Doctors to celebrate Doctor Who’s tenth anniversary was almost inevitable, and the resultant four episodes are a delightful nostalgia-filled romp.

William Hartnell’s performance recreates, for one last time, the First’ Doctor as a powerful, commanding figure of authority. Patrick Troughton settles back with ease into his impish Second Doctor, whilst Jon Pertwee masterfully shoulders the burden of his previous incarnations, and demonstrates an ability to lead from the front.

The story is simply about the three Doctors, and all the other elements of the show are relegated to supporting status for once. The rest of the cast apparently know this, and seem to simply revel in the experience. How fitting that this story should see the Doctor forgiven by the Time Lords and allowed once more to travel in time and space…

Tractator Gravis

From 'Frontios' 1984

"You do not know our goals.  I have described our means.  Once we have full control of Frontios, our plans plans are only just begining. ”

The TARDIS is dragged down to the surface of the planet Frontios and apparently destroyed during a meteorite bombardment. The Doctor is forced to help the planet's human colonists - refugees from a doomed future Earth - and eventually discovers that their problems stem from an infestation of  Tractators, burrowing insect-like creatures led by the intelligent Gravis.

The Tractators have been using gravitational force to cause regular meteorite bombardments in order to keep the colonists weak so that they can prey on their bodies and use them as components in their mining machines.

Turlough, the Doctor’s companion, knows of the creatures through a deep seated racial memory from his own planet. He recalls that they can be rendered harmless by separating the Gravis from the rest of the colony. The Doctor achieves this by tricking the Gravis into reassembling the TARDIS around itself.

The Tractators, of the genus Phenomenoptera, were insect-like in general appearance. Their backs were covered in oyster-coloured chitinous scales that glowed from within. Tractators had two long antennae on their head, which they used to control gravity, being able to influence material around them via low-intensity gravity waves. This power could be extended in the presence of other Tractators, as well as in properly made caverns. Tractator mucus was green and had a gravitic nature.

Tractators were unintelligent animals except in the presence of their leader, the Gravis, in a similar manner to a queen bee and a swarm. The Gravis could be identified by its darker skin, external nose and larger ears and was the only Tractator who could speak. It controlled the rest of the Tractators and if it was absent they would lose their focus and intelligence and return to their usual state. Without a Gravis to coordinate them, Tractators could only generate localised gravity fields.
