roboz
Thanks again for the support , adding a few more pics of the internals also a pic of the original shoulder that was mounted to the arm , that John revised by adding the shoulder mount to the body in order to have the arms move freely A look at the hollow 3D bottom cone
Tinplate6
Roboz, simply stunning! Any chance that this could become a "production" model?

Thanks Tinplate , well we plan to do an initial 12 , the 4th was spoken for so there's 2 left in the first run of 6 This robot is very labor intensive & completely hand painted , hand programmed etc so it will take time This first run of 12 is about as cheap as it can get , after that time & John willing we may move to a handful with more exotic material that's appx 4x the cost of the current material

robert
Well done good sirs! Let me see if any of my children are willing to be sold and I will purchase one! Seriously though, the price is quite reasonable. Hope to be able to afford one soon.

Thanks Robert , Without John & Tom this wouldn't have been possible Commerical CAD designers would've cost as much as the robot without the guts possibly more with all the internals

roboz
Jose , David , Mark & Roboto Thanks for the positive remarks , much appreciated So to update the list for my own sake 1) John 2) Oz 3) Tom 4) Marco 5) Claus 6) Larry 7) Klaus 8) Private Collector We are in the process of tweaking the head & face so will keep everyone updated on the progress
roboz
Quick update on the new direction of the head so as to look less alien & more traditional robotic This has to be done by Tom since it's simpler for him to modify via his own CAD program that created the files & he's probably jammed till the end of next week , Also we are trying the have the eye & dome holes modeled in to eliminate drilling & obviously easier for wiring , FInally I asked Tom to try & bring the eyes just a tad closer together so they stare a bit more staight on Though symetrically it may give the sides of the head a large view It's a tricky balance
marco
Balance... where have I seen that before hahahah cool Oz, keep us posted In the picture it looks like the eyes are cones by the way :-) Keep up the good work and yes.. the eyes a BIT closer to each other would be better ! Cheers Marco
roboz
Marco they are cone like in the illustration but those appear to be done for convenience to have her look at the radicon robot with her head askew it worked for the illustration but was impracticle at the angle of the eyes We went round & round on this for a while in the end I felt the round style better matches the rest of the gang members & she looks less insectoid Maybe if there was a ready supply of Chief RobotMan eyes as donors or else the cone look is hard to come by via traditional means & with the eyes anything but completely straight on placement which is easy on a flat head , a bit tougher with curves involved As it would place them very close together Here's an example John mocked up using push pins & LED for the cone look as you can see the more the eyes protrude the more the angle is pronounced
