Alain
Has it occurred to the doubting Thomases that the original Thunders they have seen are malfunctioning? The more likely scenario is that John's is a fully functional Thunder....Zesko, so far, only John has that singular one. The odds don't look so convincing. Just because one has those arms can't mean all of the others are malfunctioning.Conjecture, Asakusa in the 60's could have started the first few with retracting arms and gave it up down the line to minimize costs. It has happened before with other robots, you can probably name quite a few offhand.Keith, agreed. Both points. The TTT Thunder is hard to argue with. And let's quit the subject already. SH MIKE
As I recall, John had to turn his Thunder Upside Down and hold it so the arms were always in the shooting position. then you see the accordion arms retract. No one has seen the effect on an original robot standing up right and watching the arms raise? Maybe they moved back as the arms were moving up and were in a compressed position when the arms were locked. You really would not see the accordion sleeves move after the arms were up. What we see on John's Video is a compromise. Maybe Asakusa gave up on the idea with later versions, like the one Sindbad sold to Tom?
