Lost in Space (Athena the Girl from the Green Dimension) 1/6th Scale Figure

$249.99Price

Lost in Space - Athena - The Girl from the Green Dimension 1/6th scale action figure.

Limited to 500 pieces world-wide

Officially Authorized Likeness

The world's first introduction to Athena the Lorelei was in the Season two-episode Wild Adventure in which the temptress lures Dr. Smith out of the Jupiter Two, forcing the Robinsons to save him and ruin their chances of returning to Earth. Vitina Marcus would reprise her role later that same season in The Girl from the Green Dimension. This time, along with her giant ex-suitor Ursuk, Athena wreaks havoc on the Robinsons. When Ursuk turns Will sparkling Green, Smith entreats Athena to repair the boy, but she explains that Smith will have to fight and defeat Ursuk to get him to return Will to his normal color. Ursuk shows Smith a scene in the future that depicts the doctor's burial. The Robot, however, convinces Smith that since he is doomed anyway, he might as well die fighting. Will, meanwhile, has gone to Athena for help. Smith stops in the middle of the dual countdown when he hears the Robinsons nearby, burying something. He sees them disposing of some contaminated radioactive equipment and realizes he is not meant to die after all. Ursuk levels his gun to shoot him until it is whipped from his hands by Athena, who dismisses Smith as unworthy of her attention. Then, in a puff of green smoke, Athena and Ursuk disappear into the telescope, and Will is returned to his normal color.

The beautiful Amazonian Alien known as the Noble Niolani, played by Francine York, first appeared in the second season episode entitled "The Colonists," in which Don and Dr. Smith are assailed by a high-pitched sound that increases in intensity until a transmitter and their walkie-talkie are melted. Will, prompted by the Robot, looks for an alien source of trouble. At the Jupiter 2, a voice directs the Robinsons to surrender their arms. Meanwhile, Will has found a cave with a huge alien transmitter. Thinking of destroying the source of the damaging sonic rays, Will climbs on the machinery, only to set off the ear-splitting screech. When he and the Robot flee, they encounter the "voice" in the person of Niolani, the statuesque Amazon warrior leader, preparing the planet for colonization by her kind. Placing Will and the Robot under guard, she orders the men to erect an arch for her warrior colonists to pass through to enable them to breathe the planet's air. Niolani takes Maureen to see the girls listen to a voice that praises women and damns men. Maureen realizes with horror that they are being brainwashed. When the arch is assembled, Smith wins approval from Niolani by decorating it with paintings and sculptured cherubs. Don desperately leaps onto the transmitter, hoping to damage it but is frozen stiff by Niolani's sonic weapon. She spares his life only because she needs him in her workforce. Will successfully leads the Robot through a break in the force field and gets a plastic explosive from the drill site. With a plastic explosive cherub fastened to Smith's artwork, he intends to destroy the arch so the colonists cannot land and discredit Niolani. Smith almost ruins the plan by trying to chisel the cherub into better shape. As Niolani's spaceship approaches, the arch is blown, and the colonists have to veer off. Freeing the Robinsons, Niolani admits defeat by the miserable males and reconciles herself to a domestic future with them.

This was a great episode. The Robotoid was a relic from a civilization that had visited the planet Priplanus long before the Robinsons landed. Found and repaired by Will Robinson despite the Robot's warnings, it soon proved itself more versatile and useful than the B9 Robot. Unlike a robot, a robotoid had the faculty of free choice and was able to operate outside its programmed functions. Unknown to the Robinsons, the Robotoid re-established contact with its original masters in order for them to invade the planet. In the end, it was destroyed by B9 robot before its masters could invade.
