ABOUT

"Go easy on me, guys."

Prime 1 Studio is proud to present the latest edition to our Premium Masterline Series. 1:4 scale Alita: Berserker Motorball Tryout Diorama from the 2019 American cyberpunk action film Alita: Battle Angel.

From visionary filmmakers James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez, Alita: Battle Angel is a film based on the popular 1990s manga series Gunnm and the original video animation Battle Angel. The main protagonist is Alita, a female cyborg with no memories of her past. She is taken in by scientist Dr. Dyson Ido and becomes a lethal machine. Alita (named after his late daughter) is adept in the machine-body martial art known as “Panzer-Kurst”. Although her heart and soul are strong, to uncover her mysterious past; she must use her unique fighting abilities to save herself, her family, and the world!

Capturing one of the most epic scenes of the film, we have Alita: Berserker during the Motorball tryout. Alita is shown in an action-packed dynamic pose surrounded by an action-packed environment. Wearing number 99, she is charging forward, Motorball in hand, with an LED illuminated explosion in her wake!

The entire diorama has been carefully crafted with the most screen-accurate elements to bring the full Cyberpunk atmosphere to your collection. From the highly detailed Alita face sculpt, to the sleek design in the base that makes it seem like it is always moving, add the Motorball Tryout Diorama to your collection today for an absolutely sensational masterpiece.

ABOUT

“For what purpose were you born...? Was it to be killed by me?"

Prime 1 Studio is so proud to bring you the most exciting addition to the Premium Masterline Series: The 1:4 Scale Gally Ultimate Version from Battle Angel: Alita/Gunnm!

Thanks to 2019’s Alita: Battle Angel, Gally/Alita has enjoyed a well-deserved resurgence in everyone’s minds and hearts! Prime 1 Studio wanted to ride the rising wave of that passion by presenting Gally’s ardent fans with a statue deserving of that loyalty! We bring you an action-packed, dynamic statue steeped in the world of Battle Angel: Alita! In our high-octane, 25 inches tall statue, we see Gally awaken into her combat prowess as she vaults over a pitiful Socket Soldier. She wields her signature Damascus Blade with Panzer Kunst-fueled determination as she goes into full attack mode against unseen enemies devastating her position with heavy arms fire!

Our team of skilled sculptors worked incredibly hard to present Panzer Künstler Gally in her TUNED body and armor, replete with manga-inspired detailing, authentic battle-damage, and Prime 1 Studio-style embellishments! One only needs to look at her face to see that this Gally’s pedigree is firmly embedded in her manga origins to perfection. Her trademark Gally eyes, her face's subtle curves, and her picture-perfect pout bring this statue to spirited life. Our artisans have engineered her hair and her pose to create the illusion of weightlessness as she balances on one hand, wind whipping through her mane, defying gravity during her advance. Likewise, we had to match the excellence of her sculpting with top-notch painting prowess. We rendered her complexion & lips in the most subtle hues, and her eyes in the most striking colors. Her eye black face-markings possess a gunmetal quality, and her TUNED armor glints and glistens with its light greenish-gold values.  Finally, her bodysuit has an ephemeral, pearlescent quality that accentuates her cyborg body perfectly.

This Ultimate Version allows you to expand your storytelling with three swappable heads with unique hairstyles and eye colors. Choose the version with windswept hair and orange-reddish eyes, the other version with darker, raven-hued hair surrounding her determined face and big, brown eyes, or the last version, where she releases her battle cry and her fury! Furthermore, this version includes an incredible, poseable fabric cloak that calls to mind the grit and texture of the Scrapyard!

Finally, Gally is presented launching herself over a clearly outmatched Socket Soldier in full armor, who did not realize that he was going to die this day! Gally crushes the poor soul’s head inside of his armor as her momentum smashes him into a fully realized concrete abutment. All of this, as an unfortunate yet eerily fresh Socket Soldier head lays wasted on the ground!

A few pics and words from Osaka Tin Toy Institute with Nobuo Kumagai!

The Astronaut, released by Nomura Toys in 1960s, came in two colors, blue and red. Each color reproduction was released in March 1993, at the Osaka Tin Toy Material Room. Limited edition of 650 blue and 350 red.

Mechanized Robot was already reproduced so I added my hands to the metal mold and produced it. There was no print at the time, so I made a new print with reference to the original. First make a version of only the grey parts, check for reproduction, then make a color version.

Tin toy printing will make a feature version of each color instead of the current CNYK quadruple printing, making versions to overlap with light colors. Be sure to print with a little overlay of color as the tin board may rust and the white area may come out of the color border. Astronaut will print base blue and red on tin board earlier than yellow, grey, sky blue, gray, red, and soaring. Printing finished tin boards are protected by clear varnish to protect the ink surface.

Image is attached front and back body pressed in green test, blue base printing board and front and back of press finished parts. Just the front body and a lot of work to make it a finished piece.

Reference image of the press shows the process of the front body of the Mechanized Robot. The Astronaut will also be completed after a process similar to this. (Published on 'Japanese Tin Toy Magazine' P257. )

The narrow holes on the face of the front body are meant to let the other parts escape from breaking through the press.

A Blast from the Past!

Nomura Toy's Mechanized Robot released in 1958 was a large robot toy at the time when it modeled ROBBY THE ROBOT in the movie "Forbidden Planet". An old item from a robot toy collector, but it's true that good condition was rarely available among 1980's collectors.

The Cannabis Tin Toy Material Room introduced this Mechanized Robot to the world in 1991. It was sold in the USA rather than in Japan. The original was a black body color and a grey body color, but when it was reprinted, the original color was released, of course, also color variations such as Gray Metallic, Blue Blue Metallic, Gold, Red and All Nickel Plated. After that, we made 2459 variations such as gold-plated, black metallic, matte black, all black color, silver body red foot, moss green, mat moss green, white body, blue gray body (MONO shop model), silver body red foot (eBay model).

The big difference between the original and the reprint model is that the name of the canned toy material room is printed on the battery icon in the battery box. Also the picture on the front of the box is the yellow on the bottom is a little less space.

Nomura Toy's Mechanized Robot, released in 1958, was a large robot toy at the time modeled on the ROBBY THE ROBOT in the movie "Forbidden Planet". It was a coveted item for robot toy collectors, but the reality was that it was difficult to obtain one in good condition among collectors in the 1980s.

In 1991, OSAKA TIN TOY INSTITUTE released a complete reproduction of this Mechanized Robot. It was sold in the US rather than in Japan. The original was a black body color and a silver body color, but in the reproduction model, we released not only the original color but also gray metallic, blue blue metallic, gold, red and all nickel-plating color variations. . After that, gold plating, black metallic, matte black, all black color, silver body red foot, moss green, mat moss green, white body, blue gray body (MONO shop model), silver body red foot (eBay model), etc.

2459 pieces of 17 color variations were produced.

The big difference from the original of the reproduction model is that the name of the OSAKA TIN TOY INSTITUTE is printed on the icon of the battery in the battery box. Also, in the picture on the front of the box, the yellow part at the bottom is a little smaller.
