been a long time since i posted here guys, ive been hard at work on this, struggling with a crappy mobile broadband dongle so if you want to see more have a look over on my blog for a detailed breakdown on the construction.

the saucer is nearly a meter across built almost entirely from aluminium , i want structure to resemble a real airframe as closely as possible so im trying to stick to metal rivets nuts and bolts wherever possible.

also here are a couple of wood burners i built, inevitably they came out looking kind of sci fi ish so thought some of you guys might like em.

built ed roth style by roughly sculpting the surfaces, then coating them up with resin, or in this case milliput, three boxes so far.

its mostly made from epoxy putty with i a bit of wire and brass tube.

it will feature a fully detailed two stroke anti gravity drive with carbs cables and sports exhaust nozzles.

as featured in space monkey 2, a cartoon i made a couple of years back.

i plan to make a space monkey puppet to ride it and do some stop motion animation with it.

a magazine called bizarre contacted me to ask if i could do one for them to accompany a geek travel item, and this is what they asked for.

now for those of you who dont know about bizarre magazine, be warned its not for the faint hearted, it bills itself as the worlds biggest alternative lifestyle magazine, full of weirdness tattoos fetish gear nekid ladies and gore.

despite some of the eye watering content they were thoroughly nice folks to deal with they tracked me down asked permission and paid me handsomely for the use of the old amoebabot, hurrah !

oh and i have just been contacted by a "ahem" gentleman's magazine in poland asking me to design one for them, quite a rude one actually.

the inspiration for this one is the ford consul capri, with a bit of gt mustang thrown in for good measure

made from acrylic plastic fiberglass brass steel p38 filler and epoxy putty.

working lights front and rear with a strobe exhaust nozzle and cockpit illumination.

2 aa batteries in the base power up the lights.

the eyelashes are plucked from a clothes brush.

the wing mirrors are made from pieces of mini disc and sparkle nicely.

anyhow heres the latest effort from the chaotic junk filled world of amoeba, saucer x4, x4 being the fourth one ive built, bin a long time coming this one, started it ages ago but only just finished it

the saucer body and fins are hand beaten steel,it has a few brass doodads, and cut down tv antennas for landing struts.

the perspex dome comes from a vile fluid / po puri filled condiment jar bought in a local pound shop.

the cockpit and pilot are sculpted from milliput epoxy putty.

its chock full of led's activated by a small toggle switch in the moony base stand, when switched on there is brief period of twirly cycling red light in the cockpit floor and the dome on the underside, the guns also flash via fibre optics.

the red flashing light slows and stops leaving the two tail lights a white cockit light near the floor and a green halo inside the zombie pilot helmet.

the finishing touch genuine 1960 ford consul emblem from a car i restored in the late eighties

the antena rotates at a rate of about one revolution every ten seconds.

the antenna motor and colour change led,s come from a cheap and nasty rotating display stand bought from a local pound shop 'dollar store to my american friends'

build time it took about 4 days in all and a lot of that was fiddling about with electrics

just a prototype of things to come really there are a few things im not happy with but il sort them out next time.

im now looking for one of those big earings with a metal ball on for the antenna.
